hehe. been realli lazy to update this blog even tho i had the past 2 days off... and now ive to book in again.
but nvm, i'll just update the happenings of the past 10 days then. can hear that im clearly more upbeat than in the past 7 wks or so. i am.
cos grandslam's finally over and there will be no more field training for at least a couple more wks! ex grandslam was certainly much more relaxed than nutcracker. was fortunate enough to be an 'enemy' and got a whole bunch of sleep during grandslam. so grandslam was slack for me as compared to the rest... which oso means ive not much to talk abt. oh yah, i was the section commander for the 1st fighting patrol mission which lasted 5 hrs. 5 hrs! it was one long patrol. got @#$%ed a lot along the way. but that was the one notable thing i did during grandslam, which lasted 3 days.
after grandslam there was the obstacle courses to overcome. din do much of them cos i kinda had a twinging feeling in my knee. din do much of the confidence obstacles, din do much of the additional obstacles either. in the end i onli remembered that i did repelling. yup.
and there were the 2 soc tests. actualli one trial test and another test. but u had to pass the trial test b4 u could actualli do the actual test so basically there were two tests. geddit? anyway i clocked 9:29 for my trial test, my best ever timing, and just when i was getting all confident and all i failed the actual test...
damn...
fell at the swing trainer and just couldnt recover. means that ive got to do yet another soc. realli sux huh? even got a whole buncha blisters to show for my failure. haah.
and on sunday there was the section live firing. was realli stunned to see that the live firing area was just opposite ntu, separated by just a road and a thin patch of forest! anyway it wasnt such a great event after all, just shooting and doing the fire and movement. lasted the whole day and night. morale was quite low that training was on even on sunday. reached back to tekong at abt 2am in the morning to get ready to book out...
for national day!
it was just another book out for me lah. din go anywhere in particular, just stayed home to sleep and then watch the parade on tv. im damn boring huh?
yesterday went to chevrons to see the clubhouse made for us ns pple. it was compulsory to go, and compulsory to be a member, but at least the place looked good lah. still it was kinda a waste of time. after dat went to jurong point with wenjun, gabriel and farand. wanted to catch 'the village' but the timings were not there, so we just walked arnd. saw anhong and chris got their ipods and wanted to buy a watch for myself... saw some nice seiko watches... contemplating...
and now im booking in, refreshed after 3 days off. hope the remainder of the wk would be a good one...
