i was once in ashes.
dying embers of fire with no hope of being alight. yet You have brought warmth and light into my life when all seemed lost. when the world was cold and bleak and unfriendly You have given me hope. i want to shine for You. i want to be a Daniel. to obey You. to follow You wholeheartedly. i have lived in sin, succumbed to temptation. i have lied, cheated, lusted. i've been greedy and lazy. i've been haughty. i've been jealous. i've wanted hurt to come upon others. once and again i've taken and failed your tests.
but now i want to emerge. im not going to be slave to the devil anymore. i want to shine for You. do Your works. like Daniel. he made nebuchadnezzar, king of babylon, praise God. i want to be the same. i want to shape a nation for You. use me Lord. give me strength. Holy Spirit fill me with Your power.
when i wallowed in self pity You gave me strength to carry on. when i was weak You were mighty. when i told myself i couldnt do it You gave me faith that i could. i thank You. i can never thank You enough.
watch me rise from the ashes, burst into flames and soar into the sky.
