wham im exhausted. woke up at 7 in the morning for service today and then rushed 2 cousin jiayin's wedding after service and stayed until nearli 10pm. it has been a long day.
and it has been one filled wif matrimonial ideas too. cos service was abt 'making marriage work' and coincidentally i went 2 a wedding ceremony afterwards.
anyway the wedding was held at the zoo(!) and it was imo very well planned. after the traditional tea ceremony the couple arrived on an elephant(!)to exchange wedding rings, which was brought to them on a little pony(!) and the room in which the dinner was held was very well decorated, very safari style. and they even gave animal soft toys as table gifts. i got myself a very cute lion.
but the thing which touched me most was the origin of their wedding rings. instead of the usual diamond rings bought in jewelry shops they had their rings forged out from an old french coin by a traditional ironsmith. and this had a deep meaning behind it as well, for both my cousin and her husband does a lot of volunteer work in cambodia, which was how they met, and cambodia was an old french colony.
this is just about the most meaningful wedding ring ive ever known. and i noe it would be, to them, even more precious than the largest diamond rings in the world. *sighz*
