haah just got back from my uncle tony's bdae dinner. he's 60! exactly 19 yrs older than s'pore. yea his bdae falls on national day.
anywae i ate so much gd food i tink my stomach is complaining. sharks' fin (shark-loving environmentalists pls dun kill me), abalone, scallop amongst others.. the sudden influx is just too much. but its really not just the food, its the whole atmosphere, where the whole family gathers and have a great time together. i have 4 uncles and 3 aunts, add in all my cousins and you could imagine the crowd... i love these family gatherings, and on a day like national day when we celebrate the notion of 'home', it becomes even more special.
so i missed the national day parade, but i dun care. for me this national day is family day. what would i do without them. i thank God for the greatest family a person could be in and the greatest mum & dad in the whole world. they've made a place where i could call home.
