happi cny! just came back from reunion dinner and am abit high from the beer. haha. cny is my favourite holiday, along with xmas, although my favourite part is not the new year itself but the reunion dinner. its always lots of food, lots of laughs and lots of the feeling of family during reunion dinner. perhaps its because i have a rather large extended family. 4 uncles and about a dozen cousins, their spouses and their children makes it like over twenty people for reunion! and its great when we all gather together at my uncle's place to eat, talk, bbq and drink beer (altho it seemed like i was the only one with beer today, since the rest of them drank wine, and i h8 wine) and so, happy chinese new year to one and all! gong xi fa cai!

"what if Jesus were a law student?" Luke 6:1-11 The Pharisees challenged Jesus for allowing his disciples to pluck grain, and for healing, on the Sabbath. But Jesus was not one who would bow down to the rules of what was "lawful" or "unlawful"! Rules were made for a purpose, and if the purpose could not be served by strict obediance to the rules, then the rules no longer serve any purpose and should be ignored, changed or refined. Mete out justice not by rules of law, but by rules of justice.

foreign ministry a malaysian newspaper says that the floods in Johor are attributed to the land reclamation in Singapore. the indonesian government now bans all exports of sand - with the consequence that Singapore's construction industry is facing a shortage of their primary raw material. thailand is still pissed with Temasek for buying into some state telephone company, pissed that thaksin visited here, and pissed that they lost 2-1 last nite due to a controversial penalty. seems like our diplomatic relations with our neighbours aren't exactly on cloud nine at the moment.
