citius, altius, fortius
wheee~ singapore wins an olympic medal! i'm so very happy =)
before popping the champagne, a little observation. i feel that many singaporeans are just not appreciative enough of the country they live in. they harp on the stressful lifestyle, the high cost of living, the boring nightlife etc. but i'm just proud that our little red dot has made it to become a first world nation, with safe surroundings and a clean environment, achieving all without the vast resources that other countries have.
and yes i'm extremely proud that we've finally had our first olympic medal since independence! the table tennis team may not consist of players who are born in singapore, but i feel that this does not dull our victory. in fact, i feel that it is just reflective of our cosmopolitan city, where singaporeans consist of not only those who are born locally, but also those who have come to love our culture and lifestyle and have chosen to reside here.
