i hate mid-sem

with 2 assignments hanging over my head, can't help but feel nervous.. gah..

anyway, i got a internship offer liao! hahaha. but i still hope to get 2 more la. seems like most firms have all their slots filled le. only a&g haven't confirmed their places yet. and since they are the biggest.. really need God's help! and hopefully God will come through for my norton rose application as well. tho i dun have much hope for that la.. =/ maybe He can give me an opening at drew as well. muahahaha.. i too much sia

went for overnight prayer meeting for the first time last friday.. then nxt day got abit of sore throat.. xp then miraculously sore throat gone after sunday's prayer meeting. either strepsils is good or God is really good =)

ah well. guess what? its time to hit the books. cannot see raymond off but i wish him all the best for his 2nd year in med sch =)

freebies!

went to the law careers fair today and got a lot of freebies from the law firms!

i got 2 1gb-thumbdrives from both kattarwong and baker & mckenzie, a laptop bag from rodyk & davidson, a nice leather folder from stamford law and lots of other misc stuff. dun say i gian beng la; i got them while applying for internships! i still havent got a single place yet! sianz.

now i think i shall use a shotgun approach la. just whack by applying to every single firm. hopefully one will get back to me..

gosh i drank so much wine my head swam.. but still after dinner we headed down to lido to watch ps i love u. dearie fell asleep near the end of the show! but i tot the show was quite nice. maybe because i didn't read the book before. so, never ever read the book before the movie, cos comparisons would bound to disappoint =)

happy cny!

haha abit late but here's wishing one and all a happy chinese new year! and to celebrate the new year i've changed my blogskin! felt it's a bit niang but what the heck, i like the singapore skyline at the bottom left hand corner of the skin.

anyway cny is really one of my favourite times of the year. the feeling of family which the new year brings never fails to warm my heart. and so i've decided that even next year, on exchange, i'll come back to sg to celebrate cny! haha. actually i've already thought of it b4 la. the semester will start on 12th jan, and cny is on the 26th.. means that i'll only be in hk for 2 wks before i fly back again. airplane ticket cheap hor?! xp

gripe: more and more of my cousins are planning to emigrate to aus. sigh. is life there really that good? true la, sg is stressful and crowded, but, family is here. and family counts for a lot.

hong kong

i got accepted for an exchange trip to hk! haha. actually even now i'm not sure if i should be happy, excited or apprehensive. after all i'm going to leave the comforts of home for nearly 5 mnths. dearie, family, i'll even miss cny! :( but after thinking about this trip for so long i just cannot help but feel glad that i got a place. would be quite sian if i didnt even get the choice to go after thinking about it for so long.

but anyways i've accepted the offer liao. so yea i'll be leaving on an airplane come january nxt year (budget, cathay or sia? xp). still long time to go. in any case i'd really prefer me going there on the back of decent results, so i really shouldnt be slacking off too much.

God pls bless me with an exchange award. hopefully i get a couple thousand dollars to help offset the cost of the trip! fortunately hk isn't the most expensive place to go to, and the cost of lodging in the halls and food there is really quite cheap. i dun expect to spend more than 7k there, but who knows. its HK!

1st win of the new year

l'pool 3 - sunderland 0. sure took some time but we have finally won a game! so now we're a mere 17 points off the title race, with a game in hand! wow! ;-;
God pls explain why i feel a psycho-social attachment to this team.

seriously, l'pool has been crap. they are now 5th in the league, having drawn 4 and lost 1 of their previous 5 league matches prior to this sunderland game. and they are in danger of being ousted out of the top 4 by teams such as everton, aston villa & man city. drats. yet another season where we have to fight tooth and nail just to get into the champions league.

anyway, to less depressing stuff, i've just got home from mind's cafe with cell and we've found another game thats really quite fun. dun rmb exactly what its called but its a card game based on us politics. political knowledge is however absolutely unnecessary!
a while ago i tot that such board and card games were going way out of fad. but it seems that a good idea never dies out. games like who's the boss, saboteur and this latest card game are just great fun.

and to end this post, its great that june was the worship leader for service today! she has such a good voice! in such a large congregation, service just has a more personal touch when u see family on stage leading praise and worship.

haha public law is really quite fun. maybe its because i kinda like reading political and social science related stuff. so even though i've gotta read tons of material in font size 8, and i'll probably not do well for this module cos my ang moh not as powerful as most of the other law students, i'm quite happy reading the stuff at the moment. this was part of my readings:
