overconfidence/ arrogance
so i was doing my first balance sheet this morning, and got through it fuss-free. and so i was feeling rather good about myself, wondering if that was all there was to it. haha. and then i got on to my 2nd balance sheet, and tried to zip thru it while on msn with mich and ct. waddaya know. 1/2-way through it i discovered i halved all the expenses figures, and did the lot of it wrong. silly, silly me.
and as the adage goes, pride comes before a fall. the writer of this blog shld know. a graduate from harvard (harvard!) shld not be thinking like this. then again, there are bad apples everywhere; i will not generalize.
as malcolm gladwell has hypothesized, outliers are made from circumstance. not everyone were given the same opportunities. not all were created the same. and so God has mandated that we help the weak, poor and vulnerable. pride was made a (deadly) sin.
results from hku are out! and i'm pleasantly surprised. if i played as much each sem, and scored as well, life would be a bed of roses. but hku is history, gone, past. nth but memories. we look forward and move on.
